This module introduces counseling students to gifted education and twice-exceptional students. It aims to raise awareness of issues facing gifted students, characteristics of twice-exceptional students who are gifted in one area and have a disability in another, and the services needed to support their needs. Students will review resources on gifted education and twice-exceptionality. They will participate in a discussion board debate on the real versus ideal role of school counselors in gifted education programming. The module concludes with students preparing the final project and journal entry assessing the impact of their school counseling initiative.
