Export procedures and documentation is a very important factor in exporting goods ,therefore the aim of this project report is to unfold step wise all the complexities involved in export business right from receiving an export order to final realization of export proceeds. This study also brings out the effectiveness of the services offered by southern mercantile pvt ltd from the view point of their exporters.
- 3. To study the entire procedure of merchandise exports and to find out its effectiveness from the view point of exporters. To study the entire documentation required for merchandise exports. To understand the merchandise exports business. To understand all the procedures under Airway exporting and seaway exporting.
- 4. Established in the year 1979, we south coast exports are counted amongst the leading manufacturers, suppliers and exporters of Fashion Footwear & Sandals. Certified by the renowned TUV, DAR and SATRA organization. We offer Fancy Shoes, Women Bellies, Ladies Slippers, Casual Shoes and many more. Southern Mercantile Services Private Limited was registered on 08 August, 2002 and is a sister concern of south coast exports. This takes care of the entire documentation procedures of south coast exports and they also act as CHA for other export companies.
- 5. RESEARCH DESIGN :The research design used in this project is descriptive research . POPULATION: There are 70 - 80 exporters roughly for southern mercantile which is used as the target population. SAMPLE SIZE: A sample of 33 respondents were taken into consideration for my study.
- 6. RSRESEARCH METHODODLOGY SAMPLING TECHNIQUE: Probability random sampling Technique was used under which lottery method was used to select the final 33 samples. SOURCE OF DATA: The primary data was collected through questionnaire method. Secondary data was collected from the company records , company website and From trade websites and journals.
- 7. THE FOLLOWING TOOLS WERE USED FOR ANALYSIS: TABULATION AND PERCENTAGE METHOD. WEIGHTED AVERAGE METHOD. CORRELATION ANALYSIS AND RANK CORRELATION.
- 8. FINDINGS According to the secondary data, the documentation procedures are much simplified now when compared to past years The documentation procedures followed by southern mercantile is very simple and the errors are very minimum. The quality of services offered by southern mercantile is very good . The export procedures adopted by southern mercantile is satisfactory from the view point of the exporters.
- 9. FINDINGS 90% of the exporters are willing to continue their business relationship with southern mercantile. Almost all the exporters are ready to recommend southern mercantile services to others. The cost for their service offered is highly satisfactory. The process of documentation is done very effectively which means that the degree of errors is very minimum or zero , and all the procedures are completed on time.
- 10. They should ensure that this effectiveness is maintained throughout their business. They should always give first preference to the exporters and ensure that they remain satisfied at all times. The company should ensure to minimise the documentation errors and complete the procedures on time. All the calls should be attended promptly because each call is valuable to the company. The employees should answer the exporters and give them proper feedback.
- 11. The export documentation procedures followed by southern mercantile is very effective and is kept simple. The errors are kept to a minimum or zero level. All the processes are completed in order and on time. The company ensures that the exporters are satisfied at all times with regards to the service charges as well as the quality of services offered is also very satisfactory. Almost about 90% of the exporters are willing to continue their business relationship with southern mercantile services. Therefore we could conclude that the effectiveness of their services is very good and satisfactory.
