- 4. The exact cause of appendicitis is unknown Its most common in ages group of 20-30 years Obstruction by fecalith Inflammation Foreign body Neoplasm Enlarged lymphoid follicles Intestinal worms Traumatic injury
- 5. Pain : around the umbilicus or epigastrium and shift to the right iliac fossa with few hours Anorexia: preceding the pain Nausea & vomiting Constipation or diarrhea : mostly patient with appendicitis develop constipation for few days before the attack of the pain.
- 6. Low grade fever White & furred tongue Tenderness at right iliac fossa Localized guarding over the inflamed appendix
- 7. 1)Rovsings sign: pressure on the left iliac fossa produce pain on the right iliac fossa. 2)Psoass sign: pain on extension of right thigh with patient lying on the left side. 3)Obturators sign : pain on internal rotation of the flexed right thigh while the patient lying in supine position. 4)Rebound tenderness: tenderness in the right iliac fossa after releasing the pressure.
