Despite the Agile manifesto commitment to Individuals and interactions over processes and tools the reality too often degenerates into certification schemes focused on structured methods or even worse it degrades into tool implementation. Approaches assume a manufacturing model (the engineering metaphor) rather than a network of relationships between individuals (the biological metaphor). Requirements are fragmented, the bigger picture and wider opportunities are lost. Excessive focus on predetermined goals and KPIs fails to support continuous learning and adaptation through experimentation. From the responses, we understand that the project team
(engineering, scrum master and middle management) feel agile
adoption would be better than the current level of adoption, if
we improve the collaboration, communication and ability to
change.
Most of the members from senior management, middle manage
ment and engineering believe that cultural barrier is the main
impediment for agile adoption.
If we, as a software agile community want to see a great value in
agile delivery for ourselves as well as for our clients and for the
end customers, then we need to focus more on the Agile Values
and Principles.
