Agni-V is India's first intercontinental ballistic missile with a range of over 5,000 km, allowing it to strike targets across Asia and parts of Europe and Africa. The solid-fueled missile was successfully tested in 2012 and is being developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation to provide a secure second-strike capability. Once operational, Agni-V will make India one of just six countries with ICBM technology and bolster its defense against threats from China.
