To save his life, he made the difficult decision to amputate his arm with a knife. After freeing himself, he still had to travel 30 km to get help, and was rescued by tourists who provided medical assistance.

This mountaineer suffered an accident in 2003 in a canyon in Utah. Aron fell into a hole and his arm was caught between two rocks. After 5 days in that hole trying to lift and break the rock, without any food or water, he made the decision to amputate his arm with a knife to save his life. When he managed to get out he still had about 30 km to get to his motorcycle. He almost died on the way, he was still not having food, but thanks to God three tourists met him and gave him medical help.
