Rethinking the Interaction Design PortfolioJoel Califa
油
This document discusses how interaction designers currently use PDF portfolios that do not showcase interactivity, which is counterintuitive. It proposes redesigning the interaction design portfolio to be fully interactive and portray the roles of an interaction designer through visual design, information architecture, usability, copywriting, and delighting the user. The redesigned portfolio would use in-line interactions and mockups to demonstrate projects in their original context while keeping the user on the site. The goal is to correctly showcase interaction design and make the portfolio experience interactive.

User experience is defined as the satisfaction an average user gets from a product. It is important to understand the context, or environment and circumstances, surrounding the product and user to identify the typical user and their needs. Only then can you design a product that provides a good user experience. For example, an aesthetic clock may provide a bad experience for travelers in an airport who need to quickly see the time, but a good experience for hobbyists in an art gallery who just need to know the time. The context and needs of the typical user must define the user experience design.
The document describes wireframes and designs for several mobile applications, including:

Because it's almost never the case that the first idea you have will be the best. An important part of the creativity of a designer is to think about how to rapidly prototype and get feedback. Moving from the ideation, well introduce you to ten key principles for good design to apply in UI design. We call these heuristics. Finally, as much as you would like to think that your role is done when the design is developed & launched, the real work begins at this stage with tracking & analyzing.
ArabNet Beirut 2016; March 1-3
Most people think that UI/UX designing comes under same category or both are the same. But actually UI refers to User Interface and UX refers to User Experience which are completely different paths. More briefing about those two will be discussed in this presentation.

The SOILSKIN project aims to create renewable garments integrated with biotechnological components. Inspired by post-earth roamers forced to endure aridity, the wool-cotton blend textile used for the body of our dress is temperature adaptable, sustainable to cultivate and acts as a carbon sink. The design features a 3D printed corset and medieval-style gorget with a degrad辿 coloring, representing desiccation cracks due to global warming. This armour reflects UV rays, but also represents the aestheticization of climate change in dystopian narratives. In our futuristic imagining, the hands-on ritual of ripping and immersing the fabric will not only stimulate ecological restoration, but revive humanity's empathy for the planet's thirst.

JAIN ARCHITECTURE AND BUDDHIST - Copy.pptprakriti123
油
Jain and Buddhist architecture have distinct characteristics, yet they share some similarities due to their origins in ancient India. Here's an overview of both:
Jain Architecture
Jain architecture reflects the religion's emphasis on asceticism, simplicity, and non-violence. Some key features include:
1. Rock-Cut Caves:
Early Jain architecture included rock-cut caves, similar to Buddhist caves.
Examples: Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves (Odisha), Ellora Jain Caves (Maharashtra).
2. Temples:
Built using marble or sandstone with intricate carvings.
Often located on hilltops.
Temples follow the Nagara style (North India) or Dravidian style (South India).
Examples: Dilwara Temples (Rajasthan), Ranakpur Temple (Rajasthan), Palitana Temples (Gujarat).
3. Manastambha (Pillars of Honor):
Tall, free-standing pillars, often found in temple complexes.
Symbolize Jain spiritual ideals.
4. Towering Shikharas (Spires):
Unlike Hindu temples, Jain spires are often clustered and highly decorative.
Buddhist Architecture
Buddhist architecture evolved from simple stupas to grand monasteries and temples.
1. Stupas:
Dome-shaped structures containing relics of the Buddha.
Example: Sanchi Stupa (Madhya Pradesh).
2. Rock-Cut Caves:
Monasteries and chaitya halls carved into mountains.
Examples: Ajanta and Ellora Caves, Karla and Bhaja Caves (Maharashtra).
3. Viharas (Monasteries):
Simple living quarters for monks, later developed into grand structures.
Example: Nalanda and Vikramshila Universities.
4. Pagodas (in later periods):
Tall, multi-tiered structures found in China, Japan, and Southeast Asia.

able to make calls, send sms, browse internet,
add FnFs and discover voice and internet
packages.
Baseline research showed that the 鍖rst time
success rates for these major user tasks were
signi鍖cantly low.
30%
A staggering 70% test users
were unable to perform very
basic tasks likepackage
change, FnF management,
internet activation.
20%
Only 20%
customers were
able to identify
their current call
rates.
I conducted baseline research with existing customers to
鍖nd out the problem areas and outline project scope.

First Time Experience was a
one-year project which aimed
at improving the whole GP
multi-channel experience.
I was involved in the UX
process for all the channels.
However, my major
contributions were in the
sections highlighted in blue.
Project Scope
First Time UX
13. The UX team proposed modi鍖cations for the
existing Grameenphone (GP) smartphone app to
improve the 鍖rst time experience.
I made wireframes on Paper and Balsamiq for
the new app and, made a mid-鍖delity mockup
with interactions using Balsamiq.

14. I simpli鍖ed the Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) to
ensure Package change, FnF management, Internet activation.
BEFORE
30%
With previous USSD
instructions success
rate was very poor.
AFTER
90%
After simpli鍖cation
the success rate
was 90%
Based on the 鍖ndings of my initial user studies, I simpli鍖ed the instructions
for FnF management. I tested and re鍖ned the instructions in 3 iterations. For
fast testing and re鍖nement I used Whatsapp during the interview process.

16. With the GP UX team I conducted
user research through 鍖eld tests
and lab interviews to identify and
create the Personas.
I identi鍖ed scenarios for di鍖erent user
groups and made scenario based UX
guidelines for GP internet subscribers.

18. A lot of GP customers, especially
the ones in the rural areas, buy
smartphones sold by GP. Most of
these phones are low priced and
imported from 3rd party vendors.
I made a device guideline so that
every time GP brings a new
handset to the market there is no
need for the UX team to do the
inspections.
I documented and presented this
guideline for all the teams
working in GP.

19. I identi鍖ed scenarios of di鍖erent
user groups and made guidelines
accordingly.
INTERNET GUIDELINE
To improve the communication on
the website about internet
packages I created and tested
di鍖erent wireframes layouts.
Identi鍖ed process 鍖ows in
di鍖erent scenarios and, made
guidelines for simpli鍖cation.

20. In the discovery and baseline research
phase I conducted in-depth interviews
with current costumers to 鍖nd out
existing problems. Also, I conducted
usability tests with existing processes and
customers.
After analysis and documentation, I
communicated my 鍖ndings across all the
stakeholder teams in this projects.

23. Based on the clients brief and project
speci鍖cation I started by creating low-鍖delity
wireframes for desktop platforms. I re鍖ned the
wireframes from low to high-鍖delity in 2
iterations based on the feedback from the
project owner and back-end developers. I
made the complete visual design on the 3rd
iteration.

27. I made a html5 prototype using Bootstrap framework to jump start the development process. I did not
develop the front-end for the whole system. However, I created the prototype as a skeleton and
documented visual design guidelines for the front-end developer.
