- 2. WHY CREATE THIS INTERACTIVE TOUR SERIES To foster an intimate experience that bridges Harlems past with its present. Encourage healthy engagement between local residents and participants. Most walking tours in Harlem are limited in scope and lack spontaneity and creativity. Organizers wish to broaden Harlems image as a safe and fund place to be.
- 3. PAST TOURISM INITIATIVES Previous initiatives have not worked very successfully because Harlems cultural assets were too scattered apart. Hard for visitors to have a complete experience. Many venues and homes are not available for week-day or day-time tours. Sight-tour companies (bus-operated) refuse to partner with cultural and artistic groups
- 4. HOW IT WORKS Individual Corporation Participants can sign up online as individuals or a team. Additional options will be available for individuals to join a team or have a private guide. Points are given when clues are solved. Winners are awarded discounts to a local Harlem restaurant or caf辿. The tour is available for up to three months.

- 6. MURDER IN HARLEM TOUR 1 2 0 T H 1 2 4 T H S T R E E T S The film Murder in Harlem is based on the real murder trial of Leo Frank. It took place during 1913 in Atlanta, Georgia. Director Oscar Michaeux used Harlem as a backdrop to re-tell the story in film. This tour will allow participants to walk the streets of the Mt. Morris Historic District in Harlem, learn about its history and solve this whodunit experience.

MORRIS HISTORIC DISTRICT Mount Morris Park Historic District was designated a historic district by New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1971, and is part of the larger Mount Morris Park neighborhood. It is a large 16-block area in west Central Harlem. The boundaries are West 118th and West 124th Streets, Fifth Avenue, and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard.

WHAF offers exhibition opportunities for artists and creative professionals wishing to share their talent with residents uptown and around the city. The West Harlem Art Fund, Inc. showcases art and culture in open, public spaces to add aesthetic interest to our part of the city; promote historical and cultural heritage; and support community involvement in local development.
