The Ideal Family During the 1950s, the ideal family consist of a mother, a father, and their children, as the backbone of American society.  To function smoothly women had to accept  their role as homemakers
Betty Frieden During the 1960s women started to retaliate  In 1963   Frieden wrote a book called  The Feminine Mystique.  She helped  establish  the National Organization for Women. She also wrote a book called  The Second Stage, in 1981. She wanted women to be just as equal as men.
