CHIRISTMAS VIGIL MASS (25 -12-2016)
NOTICES FOR THE WEEK
1. Today, Dec. 25th Christmas day, morning mass schedule will be  7 am Konkani and
8.30 am in English. No evening mass today.
2. For the last Sunday Bible Quest results visit the parish website taaja khaber 16.
Individual winners collect your cash prizes from the parish office. January bible quest will be
held on Sunday, January 23rd in the Gospel of John chapters 1 to 10.
3. Coming Sunday, 1st January, we celebrate the Solemnity of Mother of God and New
Year day. On Saturday, 31stDecember, the New Year vigil mass will begin with a Holy Hour
at 10 pm. Our parishioners are invited to attend this thanksgiving holy hour in large
numbers and thank God for all His blessings during the year 2016. New Year solemn mass
will begin at 11. Main Celebrant for the New Year midnight Mass will be His Lordship
Bishop Agnelo Gracias. New Year morning mass schedule will be morning 7 at Konkani
and 8.30 in English. No evening mass on New Year day.
4. As coming Sunday, 1st Sunday will be New Year, the January PPC meeting will held on
8th January, second Sunday.
5. The January Eco kids project will be a parish level drawing contest along with
Christmas and New year celebration. This will be held on Sunday 15th January in our
church AV hall. The programme and portfolios have been sent online on parish WhatsApp
group.
6. Parents of the First Holy Communicants who wish to be part of the common
celebrations must inform Fr. Henry latest by 1st January 2016. No requests after this date
will be accepted.
7. A suggestion box has been kept on the altar for the Parish Feast celebrations. Please
drop-in your ideas in the same before 30th December 2016.
8. The DYC is organizing Diocesan Youth Singing Competition on 8th January 2017. The
poster for the same is put up on the notice board. All youth who would like to form a choir
and participate must contact Fr. Henry as soon as possible. Passes for the same are priced
at Rs 100/-
9. There will be a Konkani drama on 8th January at Sacred Heart church grounds. See the
banner at the church compound for further details.
10. Advent campaign against hunger and decease envelopes are available near the
entrance gate. You may drop them in the community fund box or box near the altar or
handover in the parish office.
11. The Bible Diary for 2017 has come. Contact liturgy stall. The bible diary contains the
daily mass readings and reflections, useful for personal and family prayer. Bible diary can
be also used as a gift article for any occasion.
12. As you can see, in keeping with the liturgical norms, we have introduced the
Presidential Chair. The introduction part and concluding part of the Mass will be held from
the presidential chair.
13. Like every year, all the registered families of our parish will receive a parish calendar as
New Year gift. If you have not yet collected it, please contact your SCC coordinators.
14. In the month of January, there will be no SCC meetings. Instead, the core groups will
meet to prepare the liturgy for the parish feast novenas. Themes and other details will be
informed later.
15. The last Sunday collections amounted to Rs.14861/- Thank you for your generosity.
16. Dear parishioners on behalf of parish team, myself and Fr Henry wishing all our
parishioners a blessed and joyous Christmas. May the spirit of Christmas continue to
remain in our homes and in our hearts all throughout the coming year 2017.I take this
opportunity to say a big thank you to all those parishioners helped in making todays
celebration a meaningful and joyful experience. Thanks to the choir, liturgy and ushering
teams, Sisters, Motes/Lawrence and team for the Christmas Crib, Victor, Felix and Michael
for the lightings, Francis for sound system and screens, School peons, church workers and
Konkani sodality for cleaning the church and also thanks for church staff and police
personnel.
17. Now after the final prayer and blessing, the statue of baby Jesus will be kept for
veneration. Please follow the decorum and maintain silence while coming for veneration.
You can also pray to baby Jesus in the Crib near the church entrance.
18. Today and New year day, as you disperse after the church services, please take care of
your belongings including gold ornaments, mobiles etc.
