Virgo is the sixth astrological sign originating from the constellation Virgo located in the southern hemisphere. The constellation contains many deep sky objects including Messier 49, 58, 104, and Peculiar Galaxy 134. The brightest star in Virgo is Spica. Virgo was originally named after a goddess and was also called Vulcan. It was discovered by Ptolemy, a Greek astronomer.
