and methods.

  • 5. Management combines features of both Science as well as Art. It is considered as a SCIENCE because it has an organized body of knowledge which contains certain universal truth. It is called an ART because managing requires certain skills which are personal possessions of managers.

The concepts and activities of management apply to all levels of management, as well as to all types of organizations and activities managed. Management is concerned with optimally using 6Ms, i.e. men, machine, material, money, market and methods.
  • 13. Summary of Chapter 1.2 Management is the art and science of getting work done by other people. Maximum results with the minimum of efforts is the motto of management of any organization. Management is concerned with productivity, thereby implying efficiency and effectiveness.
