This a unique mall because the 1000 shops are owned and operated by people and businesses from all over the world! Best of all, there is an international food court, The Wide World of Taste, with delicious foods from all over the globe! You have been shopping all day and you are famished. Because its your first time to the Mall of the World, the owners are giving you $10.00 to spend in The Wide World of Taste. Take a look over the menu (on the back) and choose foods and a drink that sound yummy to youplace a checkmark next to the items you want for lunch. __________________________________________________________________________________ Why arent the prices in dollars?! Remember, this mall has shops that are owned and operated by people from all over the world. The owners want to be paid in their countrys currencies. There are five different currencies that may be required to pay for your lunch: European Union euro, Mexican pesos, Russian rubles, British pounds, and Australian dollars. These currencies are foreign exchange to U.S. citizens. Foreign exchange is all other currencies other than the domestic currency of a specific country. You are most likely having a difficult time figuring out the price of your lunch items; lucky for you, theres a Currency Exchange Bank located in the food court. You can exchange your U.S. dollars for the currencies needed to buy lunch. The Currency Exchange Bank has posted these exchange rates. Exchange rate is the price of one nations currency in terms of another nations currency. In this case, all currencies are priced in terms of U.S. dollars. One U.S. dollar will buy 13.2 Mexican pesos. One U.S. dollar will buy 1.1 Australian dollars. One U.S. dollar will buy .67 European Union euros. One U.S. dollar will buy .62 British pounds.
