2 Design Thinking Action Lab
Carol, 26 years old, works in an international company of the Tourism industry. Has been
doing the same job for the past 5 years. Wants to develop her career in the company.
Studied to become a tour guide and is now studying her second career, in order to achieve
her goal.
Enthusiastic and collaborative, passionate of her work, very pacient and polite.
SAY
 So far I have learned a lot, but I want to develop my career in the company.
 The company only considers the development of those employees, who have a
university degree. It has to be of one of the most prestigious universities in the
country.
 I have a lot more to offer to the company, if only they can give me a chance.
 Years of experience should be consider as valuable as a degree.
 Love my job, but I am looking forward for new challenges.
 I am worried about my future
 I keep asking for opportunities, that do not concrete.
 I decided to widen my professional horizon.

 Always looking for improvements in the daily responsabilities, not only for her
benefit, but also for her co-workers.

 I think Carol should define an objective, either concentrate on her new career or in
her career development inside the company, in order to concentrate her energy to
fulfill her goal.

 Carol feels that big companies should consider human resources development
based not only on a degree, but also in the years of experience an employee may
have.
 She feels desmotivated, as she keeps looking for opportunities to grow inside the
company.
 Carol feels insecure about her future in the company.
 She canalizes her frustration, by studying a second career. That way, she can
extend her work field.
 Carol feels she wants to focus her energy in her new career.
 She feels underestimated and, therefore, insecure about her work and all the effort
she puts in her daily responsabilities.
 Carol feels she deserves an opportunity to grow inside the company.
