The Bulgarian National Radio has one of the richest historical sound archives in Bulgaria containing over 750,000 sound records. The archive includes the Radio Gold Fund containing the oldest recordings from 1897 and recordings of significant political and cultural events. The archive is being digitized in three levels to preserve the content and make it accessible online. Metadata for the recordings follows EBU standards to allow for searching across 15 different fields. Recordings can be accessed through an electronic catalog and database based on the metadata fields.
