this job experience was very satisfying. i was able to learn new skills and use tools and equipment. heavy lifting,

Kitchen Department Manager
McDonald's - Pocatello, ID - December 2005 to February 2015
Responsibilities
I was responsible for ensuring that the food served at our restaurant was safe to serve our customers daily,
keep time recorded entries of the product temps, and take corrective actions when needed. Verify that all the
equipment being used were maintained and cleaned to the gold standard set by the company. Train all new
shift managers on food safety practices, knowledge of state and federal laws, and company procedures for
maintaining those laws. Assigned and verified weekly, daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly tasks to my crew,
managers, and maintenance team for all parts of the kitchen operations. Weekly and monthly product
inventory,
food cost analysis, reports on the food cost, create an action plan for improving food cost, and communicate
the action plan to all employees by printed and verbal instructions in the restaurant. I had to maintain a good
relation and communication with our distributors and vendors to ensure that our team is handling, receiving,
storing, and cooking the product properly to the gold quality standard set by the company. Order all food and
non-food
supplies for the restaurant twice a week. Train shift managers on the ordering process, procedures and follow
up on their ability and knowledge. Responsible for the training and execution of all new menu items, kitchen
layout or equipment maintenance, the use of all cleaning or sanitizing products, and all other procedures that
would change to improve the quality of service provided. Analyzing, training, and maintaining labor cost through
hourly, daily, and monthly reports. Instruct the crew and managers of their shift duties, positions, and set goals
to increase guest counts, service times and build sales while providing quality customer service and food.
Accomplishments
My knowledge of restaurant operations and 10+ years of experience in customer service lead the team to
be better at setting realistic goals, established better communication behaviors between all shift managers,
and made all training materials easily accessible to crew. Assisted in the development of a new standard test
for all new crew trainers to provide better knowledge of responsibilities, procedures, guest expectations and
coaching skills to help new crew feel less uncomfortable during the training process which could take up to at
least 3 days for crew with no prior experience working in customer service.

My ability to effectively communicate and educate the team about procedures and standards of quality
throughout the restaurant. Coached crew how the expectations of our guest to receive quality service with a
smile and the value of every customers complaint good or bad. Motivate my team with my positive energy,
attentiveness to the needs of the team and always recognized the teams success for achieving targets set for

Responsibilities
I would prepare some food items. Duties included closing and opening of the restaurant. Stocking all stations
with condiments, brew tea and coffee, checking the restrooms were cleaned and stocked. Cleaning the tables,
chairs, and all other surfaces throughout the store.
Accomplishments
Exceptional customer service, participated in team achievement goals and learned to be attentive to the needs
of our guest and appreciate the managers ability to handle complaints.

Providing quality standards of customer service and teamwork are necessary when working in a restaurant.
My ability to communicate with the guests and coworkers to resolve problems, answer questions or concerns

Dispatch Cage Cashier
Reno Hilton Hotel and Casino - Reno, NV - January 1997 to August 2003
Responsibilities
Dispatch of cashiers cash drawers, second counts on any discrepancy, and randomly audit the cashiers
cash drawer to ensure cash is accounted for throughout the month. Record all cash deposits and verify the
transactions are equal to the report. Handle large amounts of cash and accurately count cash.
Accomplishments
Knowledge of cash reports and how to explain them to all cashiers when a discrepancy is found. The ability
to handle multiple tasks, under pressure and be accurate during the cash changeover transactions.
Skills Used
Communicate with all employees and managers the procedures that are set in place for the security of the
employee and safe delivery of cash deposits. Professionalism was necessary between me, all cashiers, and
department managers in case of discrepancies in cash allowances, deposits, or exchange. Show my ability
to maintain accurate cash counts through cash audits.
AWARDS
outstanding citizenship award from pocatello
July 2009
I was nominated by the owner operator of the McDonalds restaurants of Pocatello, Idaho. I was awarded the
citizenship award due to may volunteer work with the local boy scouts of America pack 777, which I participated
in from 2006 to 2010. I was a single mother raising 4 children by myself, worked full time for McDonalds, and
had lots of community volunteering through scouts. I enjoyed my time with my kids and feel it was important
to do volunteer work in our community if we want our community to be a place to raise a family, even during
my struggles I always smiled and looked forward for our future here in Pocatello.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
As one of the department manager for McDonald's restaurant and able to attend four of the five college
business management and professional development courses, through extensive educational training and
classes, hands on business management, and leadership skills. Working with my coach to utilize the skills
taught in the class. furthermore if i had the opportunity to complete the final course, Hamburger University, i
would have received a degree in business management after completion. Unfortunately, the last course was
not available for me to attend during my time with this company. However I did learn so much from the team
at McDonald's that will carry through to all other areas of management and beyond.
