A selection of my figurative drawings... done mainly in compressed charcoal. I dont really like working from photos - so tend to do lots of sketches in life classes, then just work from them.
This document provides information about an artist's drawings and how they can be viewed or purchased. It includes a URL and website where the black and white drawings can be seen and printed in various sizes on different surfaces through a POD gallery system. The selected images date from 2013.
A rather miscellaneous assortment of landscape pictures taken in 2013 and 14. Most of these pictures being snapped as I went walkabout not for any specific project.
Most of these taken with a Nikon D7100 using a either a Nikkor 18-300 1:3.5-5.6 lens, or a 35mm prime and mostly taken hand held.
These are a selection of landscape drawings I have done in the last few years.
Am starting to feel reasonably comfortable drawing with graphite or charcoal, but not at all with pen and ink... which is a shame really (as I like pen and ink!). it could be I need to use a brush, and get some movement into things.
This document provides information about photography work by Paul Davenport that features remnants and paving stones. The work can be viewed online at two websites where the images can be printed in various sizes and surfaces through a POD gallery system. Selected images from 2014 are also available on one of the websites.

Another set of rather miscellaneous landscape pictures taken in 2013 and 14. Most of these pictures being snapped as I went walkabout.
I tend to crop most of my photographs to a square format not always, but I don't like the ratios of the standard camera or indeed "A" paper sizes.
Taken with a Nikon D7100 using a Nikkor 18-300 1:3.5-5.6 lens, or a 35mm 1:1.8 Prime, hand held.
Miscellaneous landscape photography featuring the sun rising or setting.
I love sunsets and dawn sometimes they just fizzle out but at other times you get the host beautiful pyrotechnics at which I am usually so busy gorping that I forget I have the camera.
A stroll down a beach, getting my pinkies wet and trying to capture the reflections of the setting sun in the water. then some harbour lights, when it finally set.
Also very much sill testing out the camera and lenses - I have a 35mm 1:8 prime, which is great for night photography but wondered where the cut off point was for using the 18-300 lens, which is what these were taken with. I actually love this lens.
Taken with a Nikon D7100 using a Nikkor 18-300 1:3.5-5.6 lens.

The start of a new Shadowtwister series, which is a development of my other drawings, exploring the possibilities of completely bisecting the page into light and shade the subject being left to form in the middle where they meet.
These "Fracture" pieces were made for the "back to nature Showdown" currently being held by Saatchi online. Approaching this from a conceptual perspective, one of the most fundamental things I could think of was "Rock"... having settled on the subject, I first took some photographs of a rock face that I found interesting to develop the idea of naturally occurring art.
As I am one of those people who can stare for hours at a piece of twig or stare lovingly at a rock - I thought I would explore our ability to appreciate natural phenomenon.
This piece is showing a section of the 16 grid. I wanted to have as little control over the resulting compositions as possible and these sections are the end result, and the aim of the project.
Other than cutting out sections along the fractures to give interesting shapes, I haven't composed any of this work - rather... as it developed, I devised a system of grids, placing the original samples randomly, then started rotating sections of the grid to overlay other grids underneath and then applying layer filters.
I haven't changed the colours at all - other than selecting the filters... or composed them in any way, other than setting up the grid.
This s a selection of some of my portrait drawings over the last two or three years.
I hadn't really done portraits at all before, so its being interesting to see my drawing style change... I am now tending to prefer compressed charcoal - which you can't correct or erase - and is kind of nerve-racking, but as I am interested in recording the energy of the strokes, I guess I am stuck with it.
A selection of drawings of furballs, mutts and other animals... done in graphite or compressed charcoal. I dont really like working from photos - so tend to do lots of sketches, then just work from them.
These pictures are compilations that were created by scanning in my original compressed charcoal drawings and placing over a digital photograph of stained, high texture watercolour paper. Then I used various filters to revise and change the colours.

This comprehensive report presents a data-driven analysis of global music consumption trends in 2023, based on a large-scale quantitative study surveying 43,000 internet users across 26 strategically selected countries. The research employed stratified sampling techniques to ensure representative insights across key demographics, with participants aged 16-64 (or 16-44 in certain markets) and a margin of error between 1.55% to 2.95% at a 95% confidence level. The findings reveal streaming's continued dominance, accounting for 67% of global music revenue through audio platforms and an additional 31% through video services like YouTube and TikTok. Notably, short-form video platforms have revolutionized music discovery, with 54% of time spent on these platforms involving music, while traditional formats like radio remain popular among older demographics (71-78% engagement for ages 25-64). The study highlights music's deep integration into daily life, with listeners engaging in an average of 8+ simultaneous activities while consuming music, rising to 12 activities among 16-24-year-olds. Key findings demonstrate music's significant impact on well-being, with 71% considering it vital for mental health and 87% preferring music in healthcare settings. The report also examines emerging trends like music-gaming integration (80% of gamers listen while playing) and evolving consumption patterns across generations. A substantial portion addresses growing concerns about AI in music, revealing that 89% of fans are aware of AI's role, with 76% opposing unauthorized use of artists' work and 73% demanding transparency in AI training data. The research underscores the industry's rapid evolution, where traditional streaming coexists with new platforms, and where technological advances like AI present b
