Summary the history to the 2 nd Meeting Organization of the 1 st meeting was started in November 2007 on the IAEA Conference on RRs in Sydney. The 1 st meeting took place in Budapest at BRR site on 28-29 January 2008. With the participation of 6 organizations Decision was made to establish a Coaltion Strategic goal: Offer improved services for the existing or up-growing user communities Issue a Memorandum of Understanding Invite all regional RRs 2 nd Plenary Meeting in Vienna, September 4-5, 2008 (see next slide more detailed)

Summary of the first year activity Achievements a formalized and regular dialogue among the RR operators can be mentioned as the most important achievement. Effective results : a kind of joint thinking and planning has been started since the first meeting W e developed the “inventory” of the Coalition

Conclusion Remarks T he following conclusions can be made in regard to “lessons learned” for others The strategic goal(s) and the cooperation fields should be clearly specified (it is recommended to start with few items ) Information-sharing and regular communication should be mentioned as key factors to keep the coalition active I temised task distributions with defined deadlines and responsibilities . Personal responsibility and motivation is a key factor  designate one (and only one) responsible person for each cooperation field; Progress must be monitored on regular basis  questioning working method. IAEA role: The IAEA plays an outstanding facilitator role. Ensures regular organization assistance for “operating” the coalition. F inancial support for maintaining plenary meetings.
