- 1. representation of womenThis is the only social group represented within my magazine. The ‘mise-en-scene’ of my front cover appears to support the stereotypical and dominant ideology and ideas within our society about women. The dominant ideas expressed here are the ones that make women appear to be ‘sexy’ and subservient to males. This view is taken by most of the media across the. I believe I haven't done this purposely to attract males as my target audience is 60% females to males. This may be where society falls down on stereotyping, it has become so common it has become hard to create a different image. I found it hard to represent women throughout my magazine as I didn’t want to make them appeal ‘revealing’ or ‘sexy’. To some extent I have done this, but I believe I haven’t revealed much about the woman, this shows I have not thought about making the magazine to appeal to mainly men. It can also be seen as attracting women as the magazine is mainly focused on that topic; I have represented women as confident, successful and powerful through my use of pictures and text.
