Zach is a student with learning difficulties due to lack of oxygen at birth. He has auditory processing issues, struggles with academic language and reading/writing which are about a year delayed. He has ADHD which affects his social cues. While his gross motor skills are strong, he has some visual-motor difficulties with poor handwriting legibility. He enjoys science and social studies. Socially, he shuts down when overwhelmed and acts as a class clown to avoid difficult tasks, and his impulsivity causes him to talk without permission. As he is under 16, employment skills do not need to be addressed at this transition stage.
