This document describes a visualization tool called PeopleFlow that was created to allow users to check their assumptions and gain new insights about global human migration patterns over time. It analyzes bilateral migration data between 226 countries from 1960 to 2009 provided by the World Bank. The tool started as a paper prototype, progressed through digital prototype versions 0.1, 1.4 and a final version, and includes analytics on user interactions.
