- 1. On the cold spring evening of October 4, year 1997, I Airah Jane, took my first breath of air in Calinog, Iloilo. The youngest daughter of Mr. Raul and Mrs. Lily Jocson. I wake up one day and ask myself who I am in this world, who will I become in the future. In this world full of mysterious things, challenges or even our self sometimes is mysterious to us. Good morning classmates and teacher, I stand before you. Facing different creation of God. In life, I had a lot of challenges I faced, some of them mark my past, carrying them until I reach the present. My first experience in my life that has an impact on my personality is when I was 16 years old my Tatay passed away because of a disease. I and my father are not in good terms since he left us. I wish I could go back in time, I would say sorry to him and tell him I love you so much Tatay. And Until now, Im jealous seeing those kids together with their father bonding with each other and imagining myself what would be my memories with him. I missed him so much I never really thought about where my life was going. I always believe life will take me where I wanted to go, I never thought that I was the one who took myself were I wanted to go. I am a person who is optimistic about every aspect of life. There are many things I like to do, to see, and to experience. I like to dream; I like to listen. I like to see the sunrise in the morning; I like to sleep late, I like also to get up late; I like to explore and travel some other places; I like the land and the nature. I like people and, I like to laugh with them. But those things that I like, on the other side that Im afraid to experience maybe Im just in a process of building up again my self-confidence especially when Im speaking in front of many people. Im not that kind of person when I was at primary and secondary level. Next at my college life, I just remain to be a simple person and not involved on the organization/activities of the school. Also to the people that surrounded me because I dont want to be criticized by them. A teacher is not what I have always wanted to be. But after I graduated with bachelors degree and got my licensed Ive finally come to a realization that it was worth it. Worth it, coz all of my efforts had been paid off. I know being a full pledged professional teacher is not easy but its a process. And my mission, as an educator, is to assist pupils in developing the passion and skills for becoming life long, 21st century learners. And that is why I am here standing in front of you. Im encouraging you all never doubt yourself that you couldnt do it. It wasnt given to you if you couldnt. Always believe that all the challenges that God given to us has a purpose.
