Goal of this exercise is to find out when we are breaking trust and what we can do to prevent it.
Reason why we show this type of behavior is for release: We project this on someone.

Four Trust Archetypes
1. Archetype: An original model or
ideal type after which other
similar things are patterned
Goal is to know when we break trust, I will provide an example for each of the
archetypes in the upcoming slides.
At the end I’ll also show the process of releasing vs the process of harnessing.
You are encouraged to come up with one for yourself and share your insights.

Video: Interaction between Cowboy and Artists – They explicitly explain
the behavior they expect from each other.
• Don Draper (Man with hat) is Cowboy (King) archetype.
• Rest of the room is filled with Artist (Lover) archetypes.
Goal:
• Which Archetypes do we see enacted?
• How do they explicitly explain which behavior they expect from each
other?
3. A Cowboy roaming his land and herding his cattle
• (Persuasive question: How do you wish to be remembered?)
4. A Welder building his tools to survive
• (Persuasive question: When is the last time you tried something
new?)
5. A Pilot about to set off to the clouds
• (Persuasive question: What schemes has been set to motion, worth
to be thought to others?)
6. A Lover creating at the center of his bliss
• (Persuasive question: Who are you doing this for?)
7. Tool: Pick one of the archetypes that feels the
most natural to you.
• Come up with a situation (draw this out) in which you either exposed
a break of trust or felt your trust was being challenged.
• Let yourself be interrogated by the other 3 trust archetypes about
that situation.
• Redraw how you plan to interact in that situation.
• Share your insights, which part of the exercise did you find most
interesting and why?
