Global Health Corps (GHC) supports the Global Health Fellows Program (GHFP) II in developing future global health leaders by providing early career opportunities abroad. GHC identifies high-impact health organizations around the world and selects passionate individuals to address local challenges through one-year placements. During their fellowship, one local fellow and one international fellow work as a team on both immediate issues and long-term sustainability goals while strengthening their skills as leaders in global health.

2. GHFP-II, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)
serves a higher public purpose by fostering a diverse cadre of technically excellent,
compassionate leaders. Using a life-cycle approach, GHFP-II focuses on the career
pipeline to ensure the next generation is well prepared to enter the global health
workforce and succeed in long-term careers. As new health challenges emerge and
complex global initiatives are created to meet them, the ability to respond effectively
is crucial. Through partnership with GHC, GHFP-II has facilitated programmatic
and financial support for 22 GHC Fellows. In 2016, more than 70% of GHC Fellows
were minorities, and most continue in global health career paths.
