Head of Logistics ¨C North West UK ?48 - 50,000 + Bonus + Benefits We are excited to be recruiting a Head of Logistics on behalf of a leading global manufacturing and distribution business with a UK based DC covering both domestic and EMEA logistic operations. Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a key role within the organisation, managing and developing the team covering the both the distribution centre objectives, operatives and logistics staff. The overall remit is to oversee and manage the pick, pack and despatch functions, inventory control, training and departmental improvements. As a key member of the management team member you will also be required to contribute to and implement the company¡¯s strategic plan as well as evaluate and analyse to ensure that this is meeting overall business objectives. Responsibilities include: Day to day distribution operations Monitor quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of movement and storage of goods Streamline and amend stock control procedures and practices Stock counts, including periodic and perpetual inventory systems. Adherence/review/improvements of operational systems and procedures Maintain and develop innovative systems for warehousing/pick & pack operations. Ensuring high level of customer service to all sectors of the business. Report on operational distribution costs Control operational costs in accordance with agreed budgets. Oversee UK and International dispatches ensuring all requirements are met. Overseeing Goods In Staff Training & Development ¨C recruit, train and develop direct reports, establish/ implement succession plan Requirements: Management experience running a sizeable distribution team Man management, commercial, analytical and communication skills.
