Drilling / Workover Supervisor Responsibilities:
1. Drilling supervisor for all aspects of drilling, completion and workover operations (vertical, deviated
& horizontal wells) & (new & re-entry wells) utilizing land rigs, offshore jack up rigs and hyd.
workover (snupping) units.
2. Supervise running well completion (natural oil producer, water injection, ESP, PCP, sucker rod pump,
single, single selective & dual completion).
3. Supervise installing & testing of wellheads (single, dual, uni-head & ESP types).
4. Ensure that safety rules, regulations, blowout prevention standards are met in all respects including

equipment configuration, testing and crew response.
5. Responsible for all aspects from rig acceptance to spud in and drilling different hole profiles 36”, 20”,
17 ½” & 16” surface hole, 12 ¼” intermediate hole and 8 ½”, 6” production hole.
6. Plan & order all required equipment, materials & personnel.
7. Controlling deviation from the program & getting the change approval from Drilling operation head.
8. Follow-up Jack-up rig move arrangements including next site visit weather forecast, sea bed survey,
WTI test, rig approach, stand-by locations & vital statistics report.
9. Supervise sidetracking operations including openhole sidetrack & whipstock (mechanical, hydraulic
& retrievable types).
10. Supervised perforation, correlation, space-out, well testing & unloading by coiled tubing & N2.
11. Supervise slick line operations.
12. Cure lost of circulation problems.
13. Supervise well control operations including killing calculations & flaring.
14. Revise final drawing of wellhead & completion string sketches.
15. Supervise and follow-up all directional operations with mud motors & rotary steerable systems.
16. Supervise conductor pipe, casing & liner running & cementing operations including 30” & 24” cond.
Pipe (hammering, drill & drive and running & cementing in 36” hole), 20”, 18-5/8”, 13-3/8” & 9-5/8"
surface casings (conventional & hanger types), 9-5/8” casing & 7” & 4-1/2” liner.
17. Supervise running & setting of liner hangers with integral top packer or run top packer in a separate
run.
18. Supervise cement jobs (Single, multi-stage, balanced cement plugs, top job, primary and secondary
cement jobs).
19. Supervise communication & dry tests.
20. Evaluate cement bond log (USIT-CBL-VDLGR-CCL log).
21. Supervise of workover operations (well killing, retrieving old completion chemical cutter, fishing,
milling, cement squeeze, perforation, hydraulic fracturing, acid jobs, ESP replacement, well head
replacement & cased hole logs,).
22. Ensure well integrity is according to company policy (including LOT, FIT, SBT, WBT, Wellhead, casing
& liner tests) & issue well integrity certificate.
23. Supervise openhole & cased hole logging operations including wireline, TLC, LWD operations.

24. Supervise coring operations.
25. Work on stuck pipes (jarring, pack-off, fishing calculations, back off & wash over pipe operations).
26. Carry out IADC bit dull grading.
27. Promotes environmental protection and ensures that company environmental protection policies
are implemented.
28. Ensure that the contractor meets all requirements of the contract & maintains the rig and
equipment adequately to maximize efficiency.
29. Checking and controlling with mud engineer drilling fluids (oil & water base mud systems)
parameters and compatibility with drilled formations, hole cleaning efficiency, solid control
equipment operation and efficiency, mud program & chemicals required, the emergency stocks &
order chemical required in time.
30. Reporting for daily operations activities, time analysis, drilling fluid management and rental
equipment onboard management as well as non productive time and operations coding, reporting
and analysis utilizing LANDMARK OPENWELLS module.
Drilling / Workover Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Follow up all the drilling, completion and workover operations w/ rigs including:
A. Daily follow-up optimum drilling and mud parameters, cost, survey, torque and drag,
direction plan, safety issues, etc……
B. Update progress chart (depth vs. day).
C. Check and follow cement jobs for zonal isolation.
D. Check and arrange w/ Co. man, services co. planning a head for all equipment and services
availability on time at rig site.
2. Applying all the drilling practices with handling all operations problem by studies and comparing all
the problems might be happened on the offset wells and recommend the suitable solution for such
problems.
3. Determine authority for expenditure (AFE for drilling & workover wells)

4. Preparing Drilling & Workover Programs:
 Design casing, liner, cementing & centralizer programs.
 Directional plan including anti-collosion considerations.
 BHA (rotary, motor & rotary steerable) assemblies.
 Open hole logging tools (W/L, TLC & LWD).
 Cased hole logging tools.
 Conductor pipe hammering.
 Design mud & hydraulic programs.
 Select wellhead & bits.
 Prepare & Design Completion Programs (design the completion string assembly and
running program, prepare the un-loading and stimulation program).
 Prepare all re-completion programs (isolation, perforation & testing).
 Prepare all remedial work programs (cement & casing corrosion log interpretation, water
shut-off, squeeze jobs & fishing jobs).
 Prepare all DST, hydraulic fracture & Acidizing programs.
 Prepare all re-entry programs.
5. Prepare tenders scope of work and evaluate the technical & commercial offers for the required
materials & Services.
6. Arrange Team work between drilling department and other departments like explorations,
production and petroleum engineering.
7. Prepare end of well reports (EOWR) including lesson learned.
8. Hold Pre-spud meetings at rig site to discuss the program outlines with all concern services DS & Rig
Crew.
9. Maintain inventory for all materials stock.
10. Revise & check the invoices as per contracts.
