The SWWE Regional Network were very pleased to welcome Aalok Sonawala, Head of PMO, National Programmes, Rider Levett Bucknall on 26 February, to BAWA for our first face to face event of 2025. Aalok is a member of APMs Thames Valley Regional Network and also speaks to members of APMs PMO Interest Network, which aims to facilitate collaboration and learning, offer unbiased advice and guidance.
Tonight, Aalok planned to discuss the importance of a PMO within project-based organisations, the different types of PMO and their key elements, PMO governance and centres of excellence.
PMOs within an organisation can be centralised, hub and spoke with a central PMO with satellite PMOs globally, or embedded within projects. The appropriate structure will be determined by the specific business needs of the organisation. The PMO sits above PM delivery and the supply chain delivery teams.

Inside the frame where the wild things
- 1. Writing from Inside the Frame. Normally when we look at images we look at them from the OUTSIDE IN. So lets start there take 2 min. What do you see? (try and write for the entire 2 min)
- 2. Now lets try this the other way around. Inside Out. We are going to write from 3 different view from within the picture. All of you writing should be done in the 1st person, that is, and I will be metaphorical, that is you will be the things you are writing about!
- 3. The Forest First write from the point of view of the forest/leaves in the back of the picture. Begin with something like I am the leaves or I am the gold and green forest. 2 more minutes of writing!
- 4. The Wild Thing New write from the point of view of one of the Wild Things. Become the Wild Thing, What are you thinking, feeling, smelling, saying, doing write for another 2 min!
- 5. MAX Finally, become max, the boy King of the Wild Things. Write from Maxs point of view for (you guessed it) 2min. You can begin with something like.I am MAX and bow all wild things to my special POWER.
