Mongolia began developing space technology in 1965 under the INTERCOSMOS program. Some key early developments included establishing the first satellite data receiving station in 1970 and a meteorological satellite data station. The first Mongolian cosmonaut launched in 1981. More recently, Mongolia launched its first satellite, Mazaalai, in 2017. The Association of Mongolian Geodesy and Cartography brings together members involved in fields like photogrammetry, GIS, and surveying. It has over 1500 members across categories like students, institutions, and honorary members. The Association partners with space technology organizations internationally and runs various events and programs.

The 3rd Regional Galaxy Forum Southeast Asia is taking place at the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) branch office in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. In addition to ILOA, the event is co-organized by the Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB). Faculty of the Department of Astronomy at ITB have been a key factor in the development of the regional SEA Galaxy Forum program.
Indonesia, the worlds 4th most populous country, is building 21st Century capabilities and investing in the future of Astronomy and Astronautics to the immediate benefit of students in every class across the archipelago. Scientists at the Bosscha Observatory, ITB and others, continue with plans to construct a 2.5-m class telescope and a 1-m radio telescope at Mount Timau or Mount Rinjani.
LAPAN is planning to complete work on a Space Port and Launch Center at Morotai Island by 2025. This complex is to act as the test site and future operational base of the LAPAN experimental satellite launcher. Last year the Rocket Technology Center conducted a successful static test of the RX 320 booster generating thrust of up to 4.9 tons. Indonesia has a long history in astronomy dating back to 1923 with the establishment of an observatory. Astronomy education has expanded to include post-graduate and doctoral programs. Several observatories and astronomy-related institutions have been established across Indonesia. However, growing light pollution and development threaten the main Bosscha Observatory. Indonesia aims to establish a new observatory to facilitate continued research. Abstract
Synoptic, remote sensing of the national-scale, societal response of trees and forests to human driving forces in Nepal has been a wicked problem. This problem is a complex of four ancillary issues, namely, minimum mapping unit, radiometric scatter due to terrain, modeling of human dimensions, and democratizing robust environmental analysis. Beginning with the November 2018 conference convened by the East-West Center (EWC), USA, in Nepal, the state-of-the-art and key works in this problem-solving has been reviewed in this paper. Though this technology has improved the detection of forest and tree changes due to human driving forces at earlier stages, it is still not robust enough to inform global and national policy.

Open Source Software, Open Data and Open Standards are the three vital pillars for facilitating implementation/deployment of interoperable, scalable and sustainable geospatial infrastructure. Over the last decade, Free and Open Source Solutions for Geoinformatics (FOSS4G) has supported a variety of societal needs and gained worldwide acceptance. The Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo) has been spearheading the collaborative development of geospatial software and promote its widespread use through several initiatives and outreach activities.
This talk present about the evolution of OSGeo Foundation, its current accomplishments and avenues for future improvements. Some recent developments and opportunities for leveraging the OSGeo ecosystem for geospatial innovation will be discussed.

This document outlines a study to estimate above-ground biomass and carbon stock in boreal forests in Mongolia using satellite data and machine learning. Boreal forests cover about 9.2% of Mongolia but have been declining in recent decades. The study aims to develop a suitable machine learning model to map forest biomass and carbon stock. Random forest was the best performing model with an R2 of 0.24 and RMSE of 33 Mg/ha. Important input features included shortwave infrared band 1, green leaf index, and radar polarization data. The predicted forest biomass ranged from 32.5-122.5 Mg/ha and carbon stock ranged from 16.5-62.5 Mg C/ha. Some reference

Indonesia has a long history in astronomy dating back to 1923 with the establishment of an observatory. Astronomy education has expanded to include post-graduate and doctoral programs. Several observatories and astronomy-related institutions have been established across Indonesia. However, growing light pollution and development threaten the main Bosscha Observatory. Abstract
Synoptic, remote sensing of the national-scale, societal response of trees and forests to human driving forces in Nepal has been a wicked problem. This problem is a complex of four ancillary issues, namely, minimum mapping unit, radiometric scatter due to terrain, modeling of human dimensions, and democratizing robust environmental analysis. Beginning with the November 2018 conference convened by the East-West Center (EWC), USA, in Nepal, the state-of-the-art and key works in this problem-solving has been reviewed in this paper. Though this technology has improved the detection of forest and tree changes due to human driving forces at earlier stages, it is still not robust enough to inform global and national policy.

Boreal forests cover about 9.2% of Mongolia but have been declining in recent decades. The study aims to develop a suitable machine learning model to map forest biomass and carbon stock.
