Algorithm for Modeling Unconventional Machine Tool Machining Parameters using...IDES Editor
?
Unconventional machining process finds a lot of
application in aerospace and precision industries. It is
preferred over other conventional methods because of the
advent of composite and high strength to weight ratio
materials, complex parts and also because of its high accuracy
and precision. Usually in unconventional machine tools, trial
and error method is used to fix the values of process
parameters. In the proposed work an algorithm which is
developed using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is proposed
to create mathematical model functionally relating process
parameters and operating parameters of any unconventional
machine tool. This is accomplished by training a feed forward
network with back propagation learning algorithm. The
required data which are used for training and testing the ANN
in the case study is obtained by conducting trial runs in EBW
machine. By adopting the proposed algorithm there will be a
reduction in production time and set-up time along with
reduction in manufacturing cost in unconventional machining
processes. This in general increases the overall productivity.
The programs for training and testing the neural network are
developed, using MATLAB package
IRJET- Electric Discharge Machine: Review on Increase an Efficiency of Me...IRJET Journal
?
This document reviews research on improving the efficiency of electric discharge machining (EDM). EDM is a non-traditional machining process that uses electric sparks to machine hard conductive materials. Researchers have studied coating copper on tools to improve heat transfer and thus increase material removal rate and tool life. The document also summarizes several past studies that used techniques like Taguchi methods and fuzzy logic to optimize EDM process parameters like pulse on/off times and increase surface finish quality and reduce electrode wear. Overall, the review finds that modeling process parameters and using coatings on tools can improve the efficiency of EDM for precision machining of difficult materials.

Optimization of Cutting Rate for EN 1010 Low Alloy Steel on WEDM Using Respon...IJAEMSJORNAL
?
The document describes an experiment to optimize cutting rate (CR) when machining EN 1010 low alloy steel using wire electric discharge machining (WEDM). Central composite design was used to plan experiments varying pulse on time, pulse off time, peak current, and servo voltage. 21 experiments were conducted and the average CR was measured for each. Response surface methodology was applied to develop a model relating the process parameters to CR. Analysis of variance showed the quadratic model adequately described the relationship with an R2 of 0.970641. An empirical equation was derived to predict optimal CR based on settings of the four process parameters.
The document discusses using a genetic algorithm approach to optimize process parameters in laser beam welding of Inconel. Experiments were conducted varying pulse duration, pulse frequency, welding speed, and pulse energy. Response surface methodology was used to develop mathematical models relating the weld bead geometry (penetration, width, volume) to the process parameters. The models are then used with a genetic algorithm to optimize the total bead volume while keeping the other geometry parameters within constraints, in order to produce high quality welds efficiently. In summary, the proposed methodology enables determining optimal process settings for different production needs and potentially automating the welding process.
Influence of drinking water and graphite powder concentration onDr. Bhiksha Gugulothu
?
This document discusses an investigation into the influence of drinking water and graphite powder concentration on the electrical discharge machining (EDM) of Ti-6Al-4V alloy. Experiments were conducted using a die-sinking EDM machine with drinking water and graphite powder added as the dielectric fluid. The effects of EDM process parameters like discharge current, pulse on/off time, and graphite powder concentration on material removal rate, surface roughness, and recast layer thickness were evaluated. The results showed that material removal rate increased with higher discharge current and pulse on time. Surface roughness initially decreased and then increased with higher graphite powder concentration. An analysis of variance and regression models were used to analyze the results and predict optimal

Expo is the most significant annual health and social care event in the calendar, uniting more NHS and care leaders, commissioners, clinicians, voluntary sector partners, innovators and media than any other health and care event.
Expo 15 returned to Manchester and was hosted once again by NHS England. Around 5000 people a day from health and care, the voluntary sector, local government, and industry joined together at Manchester Central Convention Centre for two packed days of speakers, workshops, exhibitions and professional development.
This year, Expo was more relevant and engaging than ever before, happening within the first 100 days of the new Government, and almost 12 months after the publication of the NHS Five Year Forward View. It was also a great opportunity to check on and learn from the progress of Greater Manchester as the area prepares to take over a ?6 billion devolved health and social care budget, pledging to integrate hospital, community, primary and social care and vastly improve health and well-being.
