Suggested Answer: The most appropriate description is C because Hong Kong culture combines the characteristics of Chinese culture and Western culture. For instance, a lot of Hong Kong slang ( ÙµÕZ ) originally comes from the translation ( ·×g ) of Western vocabulary. For example, carefree ( ÇÑÄØ·È ), snooker ( ʿµ¼Ü ), fluke ( ·ûµ ), etc. More examples can be found in local cuisine ( ÅëÕ{ïL¸ñ ). In egg custard tarts, for example, the pastry ( ðWïžÆ¤ ) is made of lard ( ØiÓÍ ) (a Chinese cooking method) instead of butter, and for the preparation of steak ( Å£ÅÅ ), soy sauce ( ôùÓÍ ) (Chinese seasoning) is used to marinate ( ½þÅÝ ) the meat.
