Cassandra was the daughter of King Priam and Hecuba of Troy. As a child, she was given the gift of prophecy by Apollo after spending the night in his temple, but was cursed that her prophecies would never be believed. Cassandra warned that her brother Paris would cause the downfall of Troy if he was not killed, and later recognized Paris when he arrived in Troy. After Troy's fall, Cassandra was taken as a concubine by Agamemnon but was later murdered along with her twins by Agamemnon's wife Clytemnestra.
