Size:
equality?
Standards?,
Students
needs?
Enough
Expected
growth of
student
numbers??
Reachable:
solve bottom
and top
lockers
situations
Location
: near
classrooms?
Near gym?
First, I need to collect data about the existing situation, where is the lockers, how often they are used, what
are the complains about them ( if any ) and if students like something about the existing ones eg. Size.
Then, I need to take measurements and ask what the school is expecting from the new lockers to achieve.
Also, I will collect all the standards measurements and specifications for similar cases from books or other
sources.
After that, I will start on a paper modeling the proximity of the lockers to other functional areas, make some
sketches of how I can solve certain design problems like lighting or unreachability of some lockers.
Before redesigning the space, I need to have couple of possible layouts of the space and have them seen by
the users and take their feedback.
finally, I design a new lockers space with consideration to the existing opportunities, solving the current
problems, applying color psychology to serve the function.
If the design is accepted, the next phase is the implementation of the design in reality.
