Two students organized a Halloween activity with decorations, games, and prizes. The games included jumping through hoops, tombstone bowling, catching and throwing ghosts, and balance activities. After the games concluded, prizes were distributed to the participants.

The Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run kickoff event was held at the state capitol, with the governor and police officials lighting the torches to launch the fundraising event. Two middle schools attended and witnessed the event, and had the opportunity to meet Governor Perry afterwards. During Spread the Word to End the Word week, a student group at their school held activities to educate about stopping the use of the R-word. They showed video clips in class about the harmful effects. They set up a booth where students could pledge to remove the word from their vocabulary. Many students, teachers, and administrators signed the pledge. The group drew names of pledges to win prizes and made a large poster of the pledges to display.MiM Winter Activity
