The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is a UK-wide charity
that works with hundreds of volunteers
from across the UK, offering opportunities
in areas such as fundraising, campaigning
befriending and media. We simply wouldnt
be able to carry out our work without their
continued support.
We have developed, alongside Athenia
Learning and the nationally recognised
awarding organisation NCFE, a bespoke
level 3 Award in Volunteer Management. This
consists of two days of learning, followed by
completion of a workbook, in order for people
to gain the award. The course covers the core
aspects of volunteer involvement, including:
 Planning
 Recruitment
 Monitoring and evaluation
 On-going support
 Learning and development
We offer this learning to other charitable
organisations to further develop their
volunteering programmes. Highly competitive
rates are available, and training is delivered by
a qualified training professional with over 10
years experience of working with volunteers.
Our dedicated Volunteering team can also
work with you to create bespoke learning
options for your organisation around
volunteering.
If you would like more information on the
award and our training course, please
contact James Atkins,
Volunteer & Development Manager,
on 020 3795 1551

What people have said:
I would highly recommend this course to
anyone who is working with volunteers. It encouraged
me to think in greater depth about volunteer
management which will enrich the volunteer
experience and benefit the organisation as a whole.
 Carol Hunt, Regional Fundraising Manager
This was an absolutely brilliant assessment to
be a part of. Im really looking forward to taking
everything Ive learnt to the next level and
implementing it in my role as a volunteer manager.
 Gemma Walder, Regional Fundraising Manager
I found this course to be informative and
interesting. James included plenty of
interactive sessions which broke down any
barriers in the group and also added his own
brand of humour to his presentations.
Sue Parker, Supporter Care Team Leader
The course helped me to evaluate the way I support our
volunteers and assess how I can help ensure that we retain
their support in the long-term. An ideal course for volunteer
managers, community and events fundraisers and those who
work with volunteers on a regular basis, I whole-heartedly
recommend it!
