G-R-A-S-S Grass stands for the type of audience your media product is aimed at. The  G  in grass stands for gender and in this case the gender that this music video is aimed at the female population. The  R  is grass stands for race and this music video is aimed at particularly the white proportion of the public as the majority of the people used in the music video is white including Justin Bieber.  The  A  in grass stands for age this video is aimed at girls aged 14 - 18 as Bieber is a teenage boy and also the performers used in the video where of similar age and therefore this would appeal to people of this age range. The  S - S  part of grass stands for Socio economic Status and this means their position in society which includes their income and status e.g. upper class. This video is particularly aimed at people belonging to the groups D and E which is the unemployed and the lower working class.
Psychographic Profiling T his music video applies three of the five needed concepts for a human being to reach self actualization with their selves. The first concept beginning from the bottom of the pyramid that is applied in this video is safety and this because Bieber has security of employment, resources, health and property and according to Maslow this aspects are needed by every human being. Secondly the next factor which this video applies in terms of psychographic profiling is Love/Belonging as it is made clear numerous times that Bieber is secure in friendships, family and also sexual intimacy. This is shown as he is at a party where there are numerous people of all kinds showing  a keen interest in Bieber ranging from boys (friends) to girls (sexual intimacy) and also there is a sense of belonging as he is welcomed by everyone (family.) The third concept which this music video applies from Maslows hierarchy of needs is Esteem  as Bieber is shown off to be confident have a lot of achievement  and also earned the  respect of others. This is shown off as it is made clear the  flat he is in is owned by him along with the swimming pool etc. This is a big achievement for someone of such a young age.  The respect of others is also heavily outlined as a really big star  (usher) is included in the video this heavily outlines status and  also the fact that Bieber has earned the respect  of some big names.
General lifestyle This is how the general audience will live. The audience of this music video will be teenagers and therefore most of them will be either students or lower working class (unqualified workers.) However, they would enjoy to socialize with friends attend parties, concerts etc. They will be interested in the latest tech such as phones, music, ipods, laptops, fashion etc. Their current status would be living with their parents or just starting university and therefore, this type of music video will grab their interest.
Audience Appeal Appearance - The appearance of the artist used appeals to the audience examples being, clothes, looks, hair etc. All this grabs the audiences interest. Status - The status of this artist is also another factor that grabs the audience because he is well known he has wealth (his flat, money etc.) Also his contacts as Usher appears in the video which amplifies his appeal as well as grabbing usher fans to watch this video. Aspirers are the type of audience which this video would most appeal to because they want the life style that is portrayed in this video.
What does it offer to the audience? (uses and gratifications theory) The gratifications theory consists of four categories, personal relationships, personal identity, diversion and surveillance. Firstly  personal relationships  are all about how people interact with each other examples being a group of close friends holding facebook parties etc.  Next  personal identity  which is creating an image of yourself for others to see e.g. the type of clothes that you wear the way you style your hair, the way you act etc.  Is getting away from reality (escapism) which is listening to the music to relax and forget about your worries and everything in general.  Surveillance  is keeping up with the latest trends, stories, fashion and news which lets you keep tabs on people and events and not fall behind with the dynamics of society.
