I have made the PPT on comparative study of Frankenstein novel and movie..In which I have discussed minor and major differences in both novel and movie.
The document lists and describes characters from three works of fiction: Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, Oroonoko by Aphra Behn, and Six Characters in Search of an Author by Luigi Pirandello. It provides an overview of the main characters in each Gothic novel and play, including Victor Frankenstein, the monster, Oroonoko, Imoinda, the Father, and Step-Daughter.
The document analyzes the opening scene of the film "Cape Fear". Through its use of mise-en-scene, the scene introduces the main male character in a way that leaves the audience questioning. Shots establish he is intelligent and keeps fit, but then reveal he is leaving prison after a long time. While he seems like a good citizen, the audience does not know why he was in prison. The dramatic music and lighting striking as he leaves suggests a "storm coming" with his release, possibly of revenge. The director effectively hooks the audience by playing with stereotypes of an innocent man for this thriller/drama opening.
The document discusses the history and roots of the horror genre. It notes that horror has been around since ancient times and exists in all cultures as a way for people to confront their anxieties through frightening stories. Examples of influential early horror films that helped establish conventions of the genre include Nosferatu, Bride of Frankenstein, and The Woman in Black. The document also suggests that horror appeals to something primal in the human imagination and that each generation explores different monsters that represent threats relevant to their time.
The poem is narrated by a child who describes an old shed at the bottom of the garden that is rarely opened. A spider's web hangs across the door, and the dusty window has three panes of glass. Whenever the child passes by, they feel like someone is staring at them from inside. However, the child's brother warns that a ghost will kill them if they enter, though the child knows this is a lie and is determined to explore the shed.
Frankenstein has been adapted to film since 1910, starting with one of the earliest American short films based on Mary Shelley's original novel. Some of the most notable Frankenstein films include the 1957 film Curse of Frankenstein, which was the first color film to depict Victor Frankenstein creating a monster using parts from dead people. A 1984 cartoon film showed Victor Frankenstein learning about electrical impulses and using that knowledge to revive his pet. More recently, the 1994 film Mary Shelley starred Robert De Niro and was directed by Kenneth Branagh, portraying an adaptation of Shelley's original novel.
This document discusses several scientific discoveries and inventions including dynamite invented by Alfred Nobel, penicillin discovered by Alexander Fleming, aniline purple invented by William Henry Perkin, LSD discovered by Albert Hofmann, cellophane invented by Walter Bradenberger, Teflon invented by Roy Plunkett, Viagra, and Post-It notes. It also mentions the role of the pancreas discovered by Oskar Minkowski and Joseph von Mering.
The French Lieutenant's Woman is a postmodern novel from the 1960s and film from the 1980s that references Victorian England. As a postmodern work, it reproduces and modifies the past through parody and deconstruction. It subverts realistic conventions by abusing the narrator role and offering contradictory structures and multiple endings rather than closure. Both novel and film aim to denaturalize representations of reality by calling attention to their fictional constructed nature.

The document provides details about the 2014 Italian film "There Will Be Meadows Again" directed by Ermanno Olmi, which depicts the experiences of 20 Italian soldiers trapped in trenches in the Alps during World War I in 1917. The soldiers feel isolated from the true front-line experience and alienated from an invisible enemy. They face harsh conditions as their real enemies become the forces of nature and meaningless orders from incompetent officers. In the freezing cold, the soldiers suffer from illness and start to experience hallucinations. The film draws from Olmi's childhood memories of his father telling him about his experiences as a soldier in the war.
The document discusses different types of story structures and elements including:
- Open stories that lead into subsequent parts compared to closed stories that are self-contained. The Lord of the Rings is given as an example of an open story.
- Single strand stories that have one plotline, like a story about shooting down an enemy ace, versus multi-strand stories like Warhammer 40k books that interconnect multiple plots.
- Linear stories that present events in chronological order versus non-linear stories like Pulp Fiction that jump around in time.
- Realist stories based on realistic events versus anti-realist stories set in fanciful worlds like the Ultramarines movie.
The document outlines a student media studies project to create a short action film. The story involves a boy trying to find his kidnapped sister by interrogating another boy. German Expressionism was a movement in silent horror films that emerged during World War 1. These films used stylistic techniques like twisted sets and landscapes to express feelings about the war and critique society. The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, released in 1920, is considered one of the earliest and most influential examples, dealing with themes of insanity, murder and serial killers that went on to influence many later horror films. Nosferatu also used expressionist techniques in its 1922 adaptation of the Dracula story. Overall, German Expressionist films shocked audiences by using horror and psychological drama to provide social commentary on the post-war era in a way not seen before in cinema.

This document compares the plot of the Mahabharata to the character of Eklavya, a marginalized student of Drona who was a better archer than Drona's student Arjuna. It discusses how Drona demanded Eklavya's right thumb as guru dakshina to prevent him from surpassing Arjuna. Even today, some members of Eklavya's caste refuse to use their right thumb in tribute to him. The document argues that although Eklavya was marginalized, he set an example as the best student compared to Drona.

The document discusses social morality in Henry Fielding's novel "Tom Jones". It explores how Fielding uses his novels to present strong moral messages in various ways, believing that personal qualities are more important than social standing. While Tom Jones is not a perfect picture of morality, characters like him and Sophia admire qualities like bravery, wit, humanity, and gentleness over being born into nobility. Through irony, Fielding aims to teach a moral lesson about the difference between nobility of heart versus nobility of birth.
This document compares the short stories of Edgar Allan Poe and O. Henry. Both writers are renowned for their skill in crafting shocking or unexpected endings. Poe's stories typically feature mysterious or unhappy endings, relying on elements of horror and suspense that delve into human psychology. In contrast, O. Henry's stories depict more realistic themes of common people and tend to have happy or romanticized endings, idealizing love, marriage and relationships. Specifically, stories like "The Black Cat" by Poe have ambiguous endings where justice cannot be proven, while O. Henry's stories like "The Gift of the Magi" typically have surprisingly romantic twists that stretch believability but are enjoyed by readers. Overall, both

Concept of Poetry- Wordsworth and ColeridgeBhumi Dangi
油
Wordsworth and Coleridge were influential English poets during the Romantic era in the late 18th century. They published Lyrical Ballads together in 1798, marking an important change in literature. Wordsworth believed poetry should use ordinary language and reflect emotions recollected over time. Coleridge saw all art as an organic whole and emphasized the suspension of disbelief in supernatural elements. Both poets were inspired by nature and philosophy during a time of war and political upheaval in Europe following the French Revolution. Their works came to define the Romantic period in contrast to prior neoclassical styles.
This document defines ecocriticism as the study of the relationship between literature and the physical environment from an earth-centered perspective. It notes that William Rueckert may have been the first to use the term "ecocriticism" in 1978. Ecocriticism expands the notion of "the world" in literary analysis to include the entire ecosphere. Ecocritics ask questions about how nature is represented in a work and the role the physical setting plays, and whether the values expressed are consistent with ecological wisdom.

The Relationship Between Victor Frankenstein And Monster NiyatiVyas
油
Victor Frankenstein creates a creature through an ambiguous scientific method. The creature is shunned by society due to his hideous appearance. Both Victor and the creature feel hatred and loneliness. The creature seeks revenge by killing Victor's loved ones, including his bride on their wedding night, due to Victor abandoning him after his creation. Their relationship is one of mutual dependence yet deep loathing.
Frankenstein swings between hope and despair in the following ways:
1) Victor Frankenstein initially feels hopeful when creating life through science but then despairs at the monster's horrible appearance.
2) The monster finds hope in helping others unknown to them but Victor feels despair upon discovering the monster.
3) The monster causes further despair through a series of murders while wanting to create a female monster gives hope to him but despair to Victor.
4) Both Victor and the monster ultimately meet a despairing end through death, leaving interpretations of the novel's themes open-ended.
Victor Frankenstein is the main protagonist who creates a monster through unknown scientific means. He is repulsed by his creation and abandons it. The monster later kills Victor's younger brother, friend, and other family members out of revenge. Victor pursues the monster to the Arctic to stop it but ultimately fails before dying of pneumonia. The monster vows to commit suicide after discovering Victor's death.
Mary Shelley's 1818 novel Frankenstein tells the story of Victor Frankenstein, a scientist who creates a sapient creature in an unorthodox scientific experiment. The creature is described as a patchwork of sewn together body parts that gives it a zombie-like appearance. While some of the common tropes associated with the story are inaccurate, such as the use of lightning to animate the creature, the novel was ahead of its time in exploring themes of scientific hubris, the dangers of unlimited scientific progress, and the relationship between creator and created.
