Photojournalism is argued to not be an art based on three key points: 1) Photographs can be endlessly reproduced with exact copies of the image, implying it does not require extraordinary talent and is less valuable than art. 2) With the accessibility of camera phones, anyone can now easily take photos with decent quality, further showing photography has lesser worth. 3) While photography may depict reality, it is not what makes art, as the creative process of producing art is distinct and holds significance, which photography lacks at its core as photojournalism.
