The document discusses conventions of film posters and analyzes the poster created by the author. It begins by defining what a film poster is and common conventions, such as including images of main actors and the film title. The author then explains their poster, which challenges conventions by using two images rather than one large central image. The text in the poster follows conventions by including the title and credits but in a non-traditional location. Color choices on the poster, like dark tones, also align with typical horror film poster conventions. In summarizing their poster design choices, the author evaluates how their poster both challenges conventions and adheres to common expectations for film posters.

The document discusses challenges facing higher education institutions due to reductions in state funding. It shows graphs depicting how MCC's state funding has decreased from 24.4% of its budget in 2000 to 7.6% in 2012, while tuition and fees have increased from 37.1% to 41.1% of the budget in the same time period. Additionally, the average total cost of a two-year associate's degree has risen to $15,635 and the average debt for a four-year bachelor's degree is $27,200. The document demonstrates how state appropriations have failed to keep pace with inflation and tuition has had to rise to make up the funding gap.
The document discusses challenges facing higher education institutions due to reductions in state funding. It shows that MCC has experienced a decline in state appropriations as a percentage of its funding from 24.4% in 2000 to 7.6% in 2012. Graphs illustrate how MCC's state aid funding has decreased in actual dollars from $35 million in 2000 to under $20 million currently, failing to keep pace with inflation. The document suggests that declining state support is forcing schools to rely more heavily on tuition and fees from students, driving up costs.

specific variables.

Living in New York: +$10,900
Negotiating your salary: +$6,317
Masters degree (compared to BA):

Working in Foundation: +$29,429

Men work longer hours & highest

Men are more likely than women to
negotiate their salaries
Women less likely to pursue top-
paying positions because of
inflexibility
Subconscious, and sometimes
conscious, gender discrimination

Would this idea better position someone in the job

Would this idea work in your institution?
Would this work in another institution?
Have you seen it executed effectively?
Who are the stakeholders who would have a vested
interest in your ideas?
Are there potential allies who would support this idea in
your institution or in the greater community?
Any there people who may be resistant to this idea?
How can you [or how can we] engage them?
Is there a way to expand your idea to be broader and
more comprehensive? Would that be beneficial?
Is this idea a bit too broad? How could you make it
more focused?
