A new cosmetics company called Karatsu Cosmetics KK has been formed in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, Japan with founding investors from Japan, France, and the US. The company plans to create its own natural cosmetics brand using Japanese ingredients, import/export third party brands, create private labels, invest in startups, operate a Japan Cosmetic Center network, and collaborate with local universities on research. Its objectives include regional economic development, establishing a cosmetics industry in southern Japan near China and Korea, and promoting health and wellness with natural products.
