MY MUSIC VIDEO With my music video I feel it incorporates with urban/suburban environments as I feel showing them within my video would help distinguish a R&B music video as locations like these would typically bee shown in other R&B videos. I also had my whole video in black and white so that the focus would be on the whole video and not certain colours standing out and drawing the audiences attention away. Bearing these aspects that I featured in the video I also wanted to show them with my Digipack and poster as a way to tie them together.
- 3. With the urban/suburban locations to the music video I used them with my digipack and poster too. Using the different images I felt really helped to distinguish the artist as they appear very similar and contain the same locations. It helps the target audience follow with the whole look and make it easy to distinguish my artist. It also helps to follow the conventions of R&B which is main aspect I want to follow. I also similarly followed the colour scheme of black and white throughout the video, digipack and poster as again I thought this helped to tie all my products together.
- 4. For my poster I used the same image as the front cover of my CD, I did this because I found it was an effective image and worked really well with the atmosphere and look of my whole concept. I also liked having the same car used in the video being in that main image, as it gives a certain idea of the artist but not a lot, Furthermore, I didnt use an image of my artist in the Digipack or poster as I felt it made it more contextual in a way just having other locations within it that tied together with all products. I also felt that the artist isnt too well known so therefore felt it wouldnt make a difference to the audience containing him on there. I also made the title of the album in red as I felt this added a pop of colour to the album and poster and make it stand out more to everything else. With the poster I also put the release date in colour as I feel these are the more important things so having them stand out creates a good aspect to the products.
- 5. Using all my images in black and white helped to keep the whole theme together and make the audience follow the artist. I also did this as many other R&B artists tended to also have theirs in black and white, maybe as the monotone theme gives it a good effect and makes you focus on the whole image rather than a certain part. CONCLUSION Overall I think my music video goes really well together with my Digipack and Poster as they follow the same themes and genre conventions I wanted, this was due to doing extensive research into the R&B genre and the artist himself Bryson Tiller and how there albums and posters would look etc. to help get the best and creative ideas for my own. Even looking at the original album and I can see I have followed similar styles as his, e.g. keeping a similar colour scheme throughout and not showing too much.
