- 2. 1 Scene one Ext Mr Lyons house 1. Music Playing gently in the background. 2. Narrator Beautys father, a kind, elderly man, had earlier learnt that his fortunes had been lost. He now found himself and his car stuck, in the snow, outside of a tidy and well kept Palladian house. Turning out his pockets, he doesnt even have petrol money to return home to his daughter; Beauty. He decides to call for help. 3. Music fading out. 4. Sound Atmospheric noise E.G. wind blowing. 5. Sound Man walking through snow. 6. Beautys father: (Overwhelmed) Such a beautiful place 7. Sound footsteps slow down and stop 8. Beautys father: White roses just like Beauty wan- 9. Sound Roaring. 10. Beautys father Huh? (confused) w- what was that? 11. Music Gently playing in background again. 12. Sound Footsteps in the snow are heard again. 13. Dialogue/inner thought Beautys father The doors just as impressive as the rest of the garden. 14. Sound As he approaches the door the music fades out again. 15. Sound Foot steps in snow no longer heard. 16. Beautys father: Well thats unique A lion head as a door knocker.. (curious) 17. Sound One knock at the door 18. Sound the door slowly opens creaking 19. Beautys father what the?... this is utterly bizarre 20. Sound Clearing of throat & footsteps, walking in. 21. Beautys father Hello..? (louder) Hello?... (echod) 22. Sound The door shuts Creaking and a slam.
- 3. 2 Scene two INT. My Lyons house. 1. Music Mysterious/magical music. 2. Narrator Surrounded by an extremely eccentric household, filled with candle lit chandeliers and other riches, Beautys father soon realises how beautiful, but also how bizarre this place is. 3. Sound Crystals of Chandelier tinkle. 4. Sound Creak of a door. 5. Beautys father Huh The cloakroom! 6. Sound Beautys father rushing over to the cloakroom and removing his coat. 7. Beautys father No clothes in here? What on earth is this place..? 8. Sound Barking of a dog. 9. Sound Beautys father laughs. 10. Beautys father Of course, what did I expect of this place; a dog as a host to greet me. 11. Sound The dog walking, then barking. 12. Beautys father You want me to follow? 13. Sound The dog barks. 14. Beautys father Of course, I have to follow the d- 15. Sound Barking. 16. Beautys father yes, okay, Im following. 17. Sound Foot steps loud at first becoming quieter. 18. Music Fades in.
- 4. 3 Scene three INT. Mr. Lyons house The Study. 1. Narrator Following the diamond collared spaniel, Beautys father was lead into the leather panelled study, filled with warmth from the fire, a table stand next to it, where there lies a silver tray with a whiskey decanter and a silver dish. 2. Music Fades out. 3. Sound Crackling of a log fire. 4. Beautys father Guessing this is the study, huh, boy? 5. Sound Barking. 6. Beautys father - What are we doing in here? 7. Sound Dog barks and jumps up and down. 8. Beautys father Whats this?... drink me it says 9. Music Fades in, remains quiet. 10. Sound bottle opening 11. Sound Beautys father drinking the liquid. 12. Beautys father Its merely just whiskey. 13. Sound Dog barks again. 14. Beautys father The lid of the dish says eat me? 15. Sound Dish lid being removed and placed to the side. 16. Beautys father Roast beef! Excellent! 17. Sound Beautys father eating. 18. Sound Dog walks away. 19. Beautys father That was absolutely delicious, I must thank my most hospitable host, take me to hi Wait? Hello? Where did you go? 20. Sound Beautys father pacing around the room. 21. Beautys father hell be back Im sure of it! 22. Music Becomes louds.
- 5. 4 Scene four INT. Mr Lyons house The Study 1. Narrator Having nothing better to do, Beautys father makes two calls; one too a garage, the other being an attempted call to Beauty. The car would be fixed within the hour. All expenses being paid by his host; he was informed by the Mechanic. 2. Music - fading out. 3. Sound Dial tone of phone. 4. Sound Call cut off. 5. Sound sighing. 6. Sound Beautys father drinking. 7. Beautys father Once more, Ill try once more, Beauty will be worrying. 8. Sound Dialling of numbers. 9. Sound Dial tone of phone. 10. Sound Call cut off. 11. Beautys father (sighs) The storms cleared but the lines are still down. 12. Sound Dog walks in. 13. Beautys father ah! Youve returned with my coat, guessing this is my sign to leave? 14. Sound Dog barks. 15. Sound Beautys father and the dog walking 16. Sound The door creaks open. 17. Beautys father I guess this is it; time to say good bye! 18. Sound dog barks. 19. Sound door creaks and slams behind him.
