A highly motivated individual with great passion and love for automobiles. Currently in my
Fourth year at Loughborough University studying MEng Automotive Engineering and seeking a

Final Year Project
At present, I’ve completed my final year project titled, ‘The effects of drag reduction strategies on
vehicle stability’. This project required me to develop a vehicle dynamics simulation on Matlab, which
takes CFD parameters (e.g. crosswind side force, yawing moment coefficients) from relevant sources
and outputs parameters (e.g. position, velocity, yaw rates etc.) that allows us to assess the stability of a
vehicle.
Besides drag reduction such as increasing backlight angles, this model can also assess the effects of
vehicle parameters such as wheelbase length, centre of gravity, tyre stiffness etc. The model has been
validated against a more complex 6 degree of freedom CFD coupled vehicle dynamics model which
takes weeks to complete a simulation while my model takes seconds.
Group Project
I’m also part of the powertrains team for a Formula Student project which requires 3 teams of 5 to come
together and design a race kart. My role was to design a radiator that will be paired to a Triumph
Daytona 675 engine which will be turbocharged and therefore produce extra heat. The method used is
an E-NTU method which I’ve implemented in Matlab to easily optimize different parameters. Attached is
a CAD image of the radiator plus ancillaries.

Relevant Work Experience
July-September 2015 Nissan Malaysia Assembly Plant
Role: Intern
One of my best experiences was with Nissan as I got to see the whole process of a car being
assembled. My role was to be part of the quality assurance team, ensuring that the cars being received
by the customers were up to standards. I was taught many different skills to detect defects on a vehicle,
how they were rectified, and expectations of the modern consumer.
Management of the facilities were synonymous to some of the management principles I’ve learnt in
university such as the ‘Toyota Way’. The workers were each responsible for their own assigned vehicle,
and jobs were being rotated weekly to avoid boredom. The placement of each facility at the ‘line’
followed a very logical order and was paramount for efficiency.
Furthermore, I was also given the task of reducing the cost of car covers. Every year, the cost of just
the car covers can total up to ¼ million USD and I’ve managed to come up with a simpler design which
halves this amount.
July-September 2013 SC Laser Cutting Technology
Role: Intern Designer
During my time here, I was taught how laser cutting works and the limitations of the machinery.
My main responsibility was to produce CAD drawings with AutoCAD which include flanges and gaskets,
simple shapes on bars, engravings etc. Some drawings required a specific way of drawing to minimise
trimming as some lines that require trimming cannot be seen unless zoomed in. This has allowed me to
improve upon my CAD skills dramatically.
Some drawings were sent to another company to be cut by water jets if precision was not required as
laser cutting is more time and energy consuming. This has taught me how various ways can be used to
save cost.
Other Work Experience
June-October 2014
Role: CAD design (Solidworks) Agro-Axis
My father is a businessman in the agricultural industry and wanted to expand his business in Indonesia.
One of his projects was to set up a fertiliser packing plant and had to give a presentation to his clients. I
suggested designing the entire factory in 3D using knowledge gained from my studies and this was
very useful as he found out problems with his initial design after looking at the CAD. CAD of supplied
parts such as the conveyor belt was obtained from the manufacturer.
Interests and Achievements
Languages: English, Malay, Chinese, Cantonese.
Piano: Grade 6 theory, Grade 4 practical.
Cycling: My goal was to regularly commute to the university but over time it became a hobby. Service
on my own bicycle is done at home.
Go-karting: During summer 2013/2014, I pursued this hobby with members of a car club in Malaysia at
the Sepang International Kart Circuit. We had numerous in-house competitions and I stood on the
podium on 4 events.
