Initially, the Lead Control System Engineer for Operations on the Qurayyah Seawater Plant Expansion for sending 3 million barrels/day of treated seawater to the Khurais oil field. Then in March 2008 moved to the new Khurais Producing Plant Project portion (1.2 million barrel production facility) for Control System FATs and pre-commissioning. Highlights of Duties On the Qurayyah side my CSE responsibilities included the project scope development, project proposal engineering, detailed engineering phase and reviews, and finally construction and commissioning. Took a leading role in the PDRs, CDRs, FATS, SATS, and commissioning of the PCS at Qurayyah . Performed eReviews of Instrumentation and Controls, Attended 60% Design Review in FANO in August 2006, attended the DeltaV DCS Critical Design Review in Calgary in Dec 2006, performed Factory Acceptance Testing for VMS, ESD and Delta from April through Dec 2007 in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. - 3. 2001 through 2005: BI-8274 Seawater Expansion to Aindar Field, Lead PCS Engineer BI-8274, increased the production capacity of the Seawater Treating Plant from 4 million barrels/day to 6 million barrels by adding facilities to produce 2 million barrels/per day of treated seawater. I was the Lead Operation Engineer for Instrument/Control System during whole project, from the Project Proposal, Detailed Designed Engineering, the FATs, SATs, and finally to pre-commissioning and startup. The new plant areas used DeltaV and Triplex Trusted, which was integrated with existing plants Provox DCS using Delta-V Operate for Provox. Performed loop and functional tests for new plant components which were all controlled by the new Delta-V DCS and Triplex Trusted ESD . Supervised the initial startup of the additional SO2 plant, additional plant air compressor, five treatment modules, 2 shipping pumps, one pipeline manifold and 3 Hypo-chlorinators. Provided support during and after startup to Operations to smooth the transition from Fisher Provox to Delta V DCS. Post Startup: In 2007 oversaw modifications to correct design flaws with the Bifi AOVs and MOVs installed by BI-8274. Early 2007 Commissioning new 24 Valtek Flow Control Valves for QUU-1. July 1996 to August 2004 Southern Area Producing Engineering Dept., Senior Instrument and Control Engineer in TSU. Supported all aspects of Instrumentation and Control with technical assistance to Operations and Maintenance for the Southern Area GOSPs and Water Injection Plants. Performed detailed engineering for mini CSE design projects in these plants. Commissioned conversions to Yokogawa DCS/Triconex ESD at AinDar, Shedgum GOSPs, and the ABB DCS in the Abqaiq 2 GOSP. After Commissioning, made Configuration changes to the Yokogawa, ABB and Provox DCSs for these plants. Worked heavily with Digital and Instrument Maintenance. July 1980 to July 1996 Qurayyah Seawater Plant(SWID), Senior Operations Engineer for Instr/Control Supported all aspects of the plants instrumentation and control system During this period at Qurayyah took leading part in the conversion from Foxboro Spec 200 to Fisher Provox DCS /Triplex Regent ESD Supported of all parts of Plant Operation including Trip Analysis, Vibration Analysis, Compressor Control System Problems, etc. Became an expert in all areas of the plant, both to Operations and Maintenance.
