IELTS is an English language test for higher education and global migration. The test consists of four parts - Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. It takes 2 hours and 45 minutes to complete all sections except Speaking. The Speaking section is usually done on a different day from the other parts. IELTS is recognized by universities in countries like Australia, the UK, Canada and others. It is administered by the British Council, IDP Education, and Cambridge Assessment English. Test takers receive a band score from 1 to 9 for each section, with an overall band score ranging from non-user to expert user of English.
