Pregnant women in Rwanda often walk for miles and days to reach health clinics. With support from USAID and partners like Jhpiego, Rwandan health providers are offering antenatal care services to help reduce maternal and newborn deaths. Over 800 community health workers have been trained by Jhpiego, with USAID support, to improve services like nutritional feeding and wellness checks for mothers and children. The goal is to reduce maternal and newborn deaths in Rwanda by improving access to healthcare.
