It communicates With PSS (Port Special System) and M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) for the purpose of gathering alarm and security data from different equipment, its backend storage services are based on SQL server which is both open Database Connectivity (ODBC) and Object Linking and Embedding Database (OLE DB) compliant, The POS is designed with a redundant multi-site architecture to provide high availability for critical Khalifa Port operations. The backend services and storage redundancy is based on a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 database mirroring solution.
