Six Important lessons
I learnt being an entrepreneur
(I’d like to share them :) )
www.theappguruz.com
Six year back, I founded TheAppGuruz on
15th August.
Independence Day of India
Introduction
www.theappguruz.com
TheAppGuruz is a game development company.
(in case you didn’t know)
Introduction
www.theappguruz.com
TheAppGuruz has been a roller coaster ride for
me since its inception.
Introduction
www.theappguruz.com
And I'll admit that while the net outcome has
been very rewarding, I have committed
numerous mistakes along the way. :)
Introduction
www.theappguruz.com
All in all, I've picked up a thing or two along the way.
Things about managing people, things about getting things right - well,
mostly - and about pretty much everything else, including handling failure
and success.
Here goes...
Introduction
www.theappguruz.com
“If you can manage your people
well, you can manage your
business well.”
Basic Principle
www.theappguruz.com
Keeping this basic principle in mind,
here's what I would like to share.
www.theappguruz.com
Lesson 1: Trust people
www.theappguruz.com
● Trust is the most precious thing in this world. It can make a huge difference.
● Don’t let a handful of bad experiences override your faith in good people.
● If you can’t trust, you won’t be able to grow.
Lesson 1: Trust people

Lesson 2: Let go
www.theappguruz.com
● Be ready to let things go.
● Remember you’re looking for something better and to get that, there will always
be trade-offs.
● Move on.
Lesson 2: Let go
www.theappguruz.com
Lesson 3: Stay balanced
www.theappguruz.com
● In business, no two days are identical. Some days would be great, while others
might be not so great.
● Don’t let the ups and downs affect you or the people around you too much. It's
a part of your entrepreneurial journey.
● Don’t let your ups blind you with overconfidence.
Lesson 3: Stay balanced
www.theappguruz.com
Lesson 4: Let people decide
www.theappguruz.com
● Don’t think of yourself as a boss. Be a manager, and manage the people well.
● Help people whenever you can. And then get out of the way.
● No one’s smart enough to make all the decisions all the time. Don't centralize
decision-making.
Lesson 4: Let people decide
www.theappguruz.com
Lesson 5: Foster disagreements
www.theappguruz.com
● Develop an open, trusting atmosphere where your people can speak their
mind.
● If people follow whatever you say all the time, there is something wrong.
● Disagreements will lead to true collaborations and will give your venture an
edge.
Lesson 5: Foster disagreements
www.theappguruz.com
Lesson 6: Delegate more
www.theappguruz.com
● Delegation allows you to make the best use of your time and skills, and it helps
other people grow.
● If you want to grow, you will have to be good at delegating the tasks to others.
● Empower your employees and they will surpass your expectations.
Lesson 6: Delegate more

Bonus
Lesson
www.theappguruz.com
Bonus Lesson: Keep experimenting
www.theappguruz.com
● Don't be afraid to experiment.
● You'll never know what works best if you don't experiment.
● The day you stop experimenting, you probably stop learning!
Bonus Lesson: Keep experimenting
www.theappguruz.comwww.theappguruz.com
There have been moments of glory and moments of failure.
There’s so much to learn, so much to do, so much to contribute…
And there’s is never a better time than now.
Conclusion
www.theappguruz.com
Good luck to all the entrepreneurs and would-be entrepreneurs out there!
www.theappguruz.com
Let me end by thanking all the awesome people
who are or who were a part of TheAppGuruz team.
TheAppGuruz wouldn’t have been possible without any of you!
Thank you!
