She describes the glaciers as mean for chipping her and moving, encounters fast streams and mature, curvy rivers that make her dizzy, and finds calm in old rivers. However, the old river disappears and the delta further wears her down until she discovers at the beach that she has been weathered into a grain of sand.

Roxy the Rock tells the story of her journey through different bodies of water and how she eventually turned into a grain of sand. She describes being chipped by glaciers and floating down a fast-moving stream. In a mature river, the currents made her dizzy and she vomited. The old river was her favorite place as it was calm. However, it disappeared and she was further eroded in the delta and by waves, until discovering at the beach that she had fully weathered into a grain of sand.
