Turkish leather industry has a rising trend thanks to the quality of its leathers, close following the fashion in the world, having strong know-how about the production, environmentally friendly and quality production. Thus, it is exporting to existing markets is increasing with every passing year. However, making Turkish leather a brand and becoming one of the most important exporter countries are the main goals of Turkish leather and leather products exporters. Therefore, the need and search for new markets is increasing. Choosing the right target market has critical importance for leather industry firms. The aims of this thesis are to evaluate the market attractiveness of China market for Turkish leather and leather product exporter firms and suggest market entry strategies. In this thesis, for the first phase, the leather and leather product sector in the world, Turkey and China has been reviewed, and then Chinas market characteristics have been evaluated. For the second phase, competitiveness, market attractiveness and market entry strategies have been examined. Finally, a mathematical model that measures market attractiveness has been established. In this model, China market has been evaluated in terms of market attractiveness by using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) based decision tree model.
