The Beatles were a British rock band formed in 1960 consisting of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. They were influenced by skiffle and American rock and roll music and wrote over 400 songs during their career. They had 27 number one hits on album charts. They played many different styles of music including pop, rock, country, blues, ballads, psychedelia, soul, folk, and Indian music. Some of their most famous albums included Please Please Me, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Abbey Road, and Let It Be.
